Coordination compounds of a wide range,and with various structures,which promise great potential in numerous fields.Although much progress in synthesizing coordination polymers has been made,it is still a great challenge to rationally control the resulting frameworks and properties owing to the multitude of influencing factors.Therefore,ten compounds were designed and synthesized utilized bis(benzimidazole) ligands,aromatic carboxylate co-ligands and metal salt.The structures of these complexes were characterized.Further,the influence of aromatic carboxylic ligands,N-donor ligands and metal ions on the final structures and properities were investigated.Four complexes were synthesized with 1,6-bis(2-methylbenzimidazol-1-yl) hexane(L1) and different aromatic carboxylic acids plus Ag(I)/Zn(Ⅱ)ions.Complex 1 possesses a 2D hcb network.Complex 2 features a 1D linear chain structure,and ultimately extended into 3D supramolecular network.Complex 3 possesses a 3D threefold interpenetration framework with coe topology.Complex 4 displays a 2D sql network.Cd(Ⅱ)/Ni(Ⅱ) compounds were synthesized by mixing different aromatic carboxylate acids with 1,6-bis(5,6-dimethylbenzimidazol-1-yl) hexane(L2) ligands under hydrothermal conditions.Complexes 5 and 7 are 2D hcb layers.Complex 6 shows a sra structure,which represents the first example of this topology based on the L2 ligand.Cd(Ⅱ)/Ni(Ⅱ) compounds were synthesized by mixing different aromatic carboxylate ligands with 1,6-bis(benzimidazol-1-yl) hexane(L3).Complex 8 possesses a unique(3,4,5)-connected 3D framework with a point symbol of(42·62·72·84)(42·6)(64·82).Complex 9 forms a 3D sqc12 network.Complex 10 shows a CdSO4 framework.Complexs 110 exhibit high thermally stability and good fluorescent properity.Fluorescent sensing experiments reveal that complexes 56 and 8 display efficient detection toward Fe3+and Cr2O72-in aqueous solution,respectively.Moreover,complexes 3,4,6,8 and 9 can serve as high-activity photocatalysts for degradation of methylene blue.Figure 69;Table 10;Reference 68...
