Large-scale chemical projects own characteristics of huge investment,long duration,high technique and complex interfaces of involved stakeholders,these characteristics bring a lot of challenges to schedule control of project management.Schedule control plays an important role during the whole life cycle of these engineering projects management,however,in the process of project management,the team always easily focuses on single target or discipline,and they ignore the correlation of interfaces among them,so as to cause resource waste which should have been avoided,at the same time,it leads to a negative influence on the efficiency and productivity of project management.This article expresses a three-dimension module on interface issues of large-scale projects,also introduces the experience how the study and the project management practice can be combined so as to raise the concepts of schedule control interface and interface management for future chemical projects management.Theoretically,current study on engineering management is focusing on project scope management and project management methodology,while it lacks of attention on interface of project knowledge module or management module.This article analyzes the interfaces that schedule might be related throughout the whole life cycle of project management,and describes the organization dimension,knowledge dimension and logic dimension which consist of Hard System Methodology(HSM)so as to establish multi-dimension module for schedule interface management,and emphasizes the interfaces that need more attention during the project phase of initiation,planning,execution,controlling & monitoring,and closeout.It also states that it is important to have an integration management and consider utilizing computer technology and project management solution from the angle of systematical theory,this will enhance the efficiency of interface management so as to provide a mental module and solution to the schedule control as a whole,and this provides a new angle to think about schedule management for engineering projects,and the effects have been verified through the actual project execution.
