As the mining is developing towards deeper and large-scale,multi-rope winding hoist has gradually become the crucial equipment for ultra-deep mine hoisting. In multi-layer winding, the friction and wear characteristics of wire ropes in the interlayer transition stage directly affect the safety of hoisting. Therefore, with the support of the national key research and development program, the research on the friction and wear characteristics of different wire ropes in the interlayer transition stage were carried out, which provided basic data and theoretical support for the selection and reliable operation of winding hoisting wire ropes.Firstly, based on the theoretical analysis of the motion and stress of the winding hoisting wire ropes in the interlayer transition stage,as well as combined with the practical working conditions, the interlayer transition friction and wear test rig was designed, which could simulate the friction and wear behavior of the wire ropes at different drum speed, horizontal speed and deflection angle.Secondly, the friction and wear tests of round and triangle strand wire ropes in the interlayer transition stage under unlubricated and lubricated conditions were carried out, from which friction coefficient, friction temperature, surface wear morphology and wear depth of the wire ropes under different drum speed, horizontal speed and deviation angle were explained, and wear characteristics of different wire ropes in the interlayer transition stage were mastered. The test results showed that the friction coefficient of triangle strand wire ropes was smaller than that of round strand. And lubrication state had a significant influence on the friction coefficient of wire ropes. For the friction temperature,it was clear that two types of wire ropes increased rapidly at first, and then showed a light fluctuation, and finally tended towards stability. The friction temperature of round strand wire ropes were lower after the end of friction route. And the surface of round strand wire ropes was worn seriously. Finally, the relationship between breaking force and wear depth was fitted to test the mechanical properties of two types of worn wire ropes, helped explore the influence of wear depth on the residual bearing capacity of the wire ropes. The results showed that the breaking force of worn round strand wire ropes distributed in the range of 45-65 kN and the axial deformation centrally distributed in the range of 17-25 mm.The breaking force of worn triangle strand wire ropes distributed in the range of 71-82 kN and the axial deformation distributed in the range of 22-26 mm.
