Content:Paper-cut art is widely circulated as an art form in folk.It was created by the working people. And it is a handicraft with a wide range of historical origins and mass bases which contains the wisdom and life interest of working people. It also has a distinct artistic style and geographical characteristics."Chinese school" animation, that is,China has created animations with ethnic characteristics in a certain period of time. This shows China's national charm and creative power. The combination of traditional paper-cut art and modern animation technology can contribute to the prosperity of the "Chinese School" animation. It not only can realize the innovative inheritance and creative development of the paper-cut art,but also contributes to the traditional culture of its own nation, and continues to carry forward its unique national charm. However, the "Chinese School" animation once enjoyed a prominent international reputation, but its current development status is not optimistic: paper-cut animation works gradually disappear on the screen;some animation creators blindly pursue technological progress while ignoring the performance of ethnic styles;animators only focus on the form rather than the content;foreign animation has long occupied the Chinese animation market;related animation theory research has not received due attention and so on.Therefore, this paper thoroughly studies the performance of the paper-cut art in the "Chinese school" animation.Through the use of symbolic analysis, contradictory analysis, literature reference methods and other research methods,to explain the background proposed by the slogan of the "Chinese School" animation.Pointed out the importance of the paper-cut art to the formation of the "Chinese School" animated style. As well as analyzing the performance of paper-cut art in different regions and styles.Hope to provide some ideas for the "Chinese School" animation out of the woods and its further development.
