The non-professional driver as the main body of motor vehicle driver is a strength remarkable symbolfor well-off society and the family economyin our country each regions. The vast northern region of China has a wide distribution of highway, and ice and snow pavement coverage is large and long.It has become a hot and difficult social issue that drivers often encounter various traffic accidents due to the difficulty in autonomous control of safe speed on typical snow & ice covered roads with complex traffic mechanisms such as snow cover and semi-melted.At present, domestic road traffic speed limit warning still takes static speed limit sign as the speed control strategy, and domestic and foreign literatures have little research on the micro and technical significance of speed limit theory on snow road.Taking the northern region of China as an example, starting from the macroscopic characteristics of snow cover weather in the whole country, this paper explains the microcosmic characteristics of typical snow cover road surface, and makes a field test on the friction coefficient of typical snow pavement, thus analyzing the influence of typical snow road to driving safety.Through the questionnaire survey, the driving habits of drivers under the condition of snow covered road in winter are investigated, the driving characteristics are extracted, and the driver's hazard perception index parameters based on the driving characteristics are determined. In this paper,a real vehicle emergency braking test experiment is carried out,and the braking performance, braking distance, braking time and other aspects of the vehicle under the conditions of typical snow covered road surface are described in detail. The influence of typical snow covered road surface conditions on vehicle driving safety is analyzed. On this basis, the mathematical model of vehicle safe driving speed under ideal horizontal and vertical lines is developed, and the model parameters are calibrated. Finally, the suggested safe driving speed values under snow covered road surface and snow covered semi-melted road surface are provided respectively.
