The Design Features And Its Modern Inheritance And Innovation Of Traditional Round-backed Armchair

The round-backed armchair is a classic chair in Chinese traditional furniture.The traditional round-backed armchair originated from the three feet of Wei,Jin and Northern and Southern Dynasties,and it took shape in the Tang Dynasty.In the Ming Dynasty,the shape of the traditional round-backed armchair gradually matured,and formed the classic Ming Style Round round-backed armchair style.In the late Qing Dynasty,the development of traditional round-backed armchair was drawing to a close and gradually declining.At present,the research on the round-backed armchair at home and abroad is relatively scattered and not systemic,and its research results can not provide a good reference for the inheritance and innovation of the round-backed armchair.How to innovate on the basis of inheriting the Chinese traditional furniture culture,meet the needs of the masses of consumers and achieve the sustainable development of the Chinese furniture culture is an important issue that we faced.This article takes the round-backed armchair as the research object,and comprehensively uses the scientific research methods such as literature retrieval,historical research,physical mapping,case analysis,summary,market research,questionnaire survey,statistical analysis and so on,and studies the design features,modern inheritance and innovative design of the traditional circle chair.The results of this study are as follows:(1)In proportion design,the method of determining the proportion of traditional round-backed armchair is the mixed proportion method.The ratio of the quantitative relationship between the whole and part,part and part is mostly square root ratio 2 ? 3 ? 5,golden section ratio1.618,and 1:1,1:2,1:3 and so on.These proportions would be adjusted according to factors such as function,material,style,aesthetics,culture and so on.In terms of the characteristics of the parts and components,the chair ring of traditional round-backed armchair has a beautiful and smooth line,and its shape is concise.The change of the radian of the cloud head makes the whole chair ring flexible.The single board backrest is light and elegant,and the back of the frame is beautifully decorated and varied.The federal bar and goose neck line are graceful and rhythmic.The connection between the seat and legs is beautiful,and the decorative patterns are echoed with the back patterns.Straight leg "side foot points",eversion horseshoe leg and inverted horse horseshoe leg beautiful shape,rich in level.In the art of decoration,there are some plant patterns,such as curling grass,twine,lotus and peony,and other animal patterns,such as dragon pattern,kylin and cranes in traditional round-backed armchair.The decorative patternon the upper part of the backrest is located on the center of the backboard,which is an important part of the adornment of the traditional round-backed armchair.On the perceptual image of the appearance model,people's perception of “prosody-monotonous” and “elegance and vulgarity” is very obvious.They think traditional circle chairs have a sense of rhythm and elegance.The evaluation of "simplicity and magnificently" is mainly focused on the backrest of traditional round-backed armchair and the connecting components between legs and feet.The simpler the decorations of the links between the backs and legs,the stronger the sense of simplicity.(2)The modern round-backed armchair has four types of round-backed armchair,namely,modeling pursuit,material innovation,cultural inheritance and modern simplicity.The traditional way of inheritance of traditional round-backed armchair includes five kinds,such as the choice and simplification of shapes,the innovation of material types,the application of decoration methods,the improvement of structure and the inheritance of design ideas.In the process of modern inheritance,there is a problem of blindly simplifying or deliberately deconstructing traditional round-backed armchair in form in modern modeling.There are problems in materials such as single use of materials and less consideration for sustainability of materials.There are problems in structure and technology that are not conducive to standardization and serialization production.In cultural connotation,there is a problem of imposing cultural symbols and not resonating with design.(3)The idea of modern round-backed armchair innovation design is to select,refine and transform round-backed armchair.Then the form is extended and innovating on the basis of keeping consistent with the basic archetype of traditional circle chairs.Among them,the key points of formal innovation include five aspects:material,color,structure,technology,function and cultural symbols.The research results of this paper hope to supplement the shortcomings of traditional round-backed armchair research and provide reference for the design of modern round-backed armchair.
