At this stage,the catering industry is developing rapidly,and people's spiritual appeal to the food culture is increasing.Traditional tableware is no longer enough for diners.Therefore,the design of special tableware based on the characteristics of food culture in southern Sichuan is very necessary.This article will proceed from the traditional concept of food culture of people in southern Sichuan,and carry out cultural characteristic tableware design from the perspective of multi-angle design of tableware,so as to improve the quality service of southern Sichuan region catering and even promote the development of catering economy and culture in southern Sichuan.Search for local historical sites,museums,and famous restaurants by looking up existing salt industry and related literature and conducting field visits.These helps us organize the background,development status,habit characteristics,food use and eating style of the characteristic food culture in southern Sichuan.The characteristics are transformed into cultural elements through various expression as the design basis.On the basis of fully analyzing the resource advantages of the southern Sichuan diet and the characteristic regional culture,we think about and respect the requirements and limitations of the traditional diet on tableware,and mix the advantages of design concepts,such as green design,modular design,functional design,etc.And put forward function that is coordinated with cultural resources.By analyzing the appeals of culture,concept and function,we choose reasonable materials as the carrier of tableware,consider the possibility of actual production of tableware,and focus on the expression of culture and tableware emotions,and combine with the sustainable concept to complete the characteristic tableware design of food culture in southern Sichuan region.Through the analysis of the food culture and resources in southern Sichuan,we explored the expressions and methods of using traditional and regional resource culture as tableware.In the process of promoting the spread of regional food culture,the tableware will not only meet the needs of the spiritual level,but also integrate the food culture into the design of tableware.The innovative design of tableware design for the local food culture can make the tableware have distinct food culture characteristics and help to the spread of the characteristics of food culture so that it will bring huge economic benefits.It is important to design a tableware with cultural connotations.It can help to solve people's functions and emotional appeals to tableware is conducive to expanding the idea of tableware design and understanding the cultural connotation of tableware design,providing a certain reference for the subsequent design of tableware.
