| In this thesis, four new multi-benzene Schiff base ligands were synthesized from the reactions of aldehydes(i.e.2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde and5-Bromo-2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde)and diamines containing benzene rings(i.e.1,2-bis(o-aminophenoxy)ethane,4,4’-oxydianiline and{[4-(2-amino-ethyl)-phenoxy]-phenoxy}-aniline).The structures of these multi-benzene Schiff base ligands were confirmed by 1HNMR spectra.Six series of lanthanide complexes were synthesized from the reactions of multi-benzene Schiff base ligands with metal salts, including two di-nuclear complexes Cd-Ln(Ln=La and Nd),two different series of tri-nuclear complexes Cd-Ln2(Ln=La,Pr and Nd),seven quad-nuclear complexes Ni2-Ln2(Ln=Yb and Er)and Zn2-Ln2(Ln=Nd,Yb and Er),three nine-nuclear complexes Ln9(Ln=Nd,Yb and Gd).These lanthanide complexes were characterized by UV,X-ray diffractometer, thermogravimetry and elemental analysis. The luminescence properties of these lanthanide complexes,as well as their fluorescent response towards metal ions and explosives, were studied in this thesis. |
