Study On The Assessment Of Ecosystem Health For The Ejina Watershed

In order to implement and carry out the requirement of the Ministry of Environmental Protection"on the notice of the pilot in river basin ecological health assessment "(MEP[2012]No.1163),the Inner Mongolia autonomous region government divided the zone into several main river basin.According to the annual evaluation work,Ejina river basin is one of them.Ejina river is located in the arid areas in northwest of China,its rump oasis in the region is of great significance for the whole northwest region's ecological protection function.But recently more than half a century to affected by various factors,Ejina river basin ecological environment deteriorated sharply,the number of vegetation along the river and at the end of the area of oasis declines rapidly.For comprehensive assessment Ejina river basin ecological environment health,from the beginning of 2013,the survey preparation was carried out immediately,including literature reading,data collection and the corresponding solutions.In April 2013,part of the panel members,leading to Egina areas for field trips,reserch the actual situation of the basin,and recompose the plan accordingly.On August 29,2013,the kick-off meeting for scientific research project of "Ejina river basin ecosystem health evaluation" was held in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.In the following a month,field work was in fullswing.After the comprehensive analysis of data a,we finally evaluated the Ejina river basin ecological health.The final score of Ejina river watershed ecosystem health evaluation is 47.66,for general health level.waters ecosystem health index is 47.02,Land ecosystem health index is 48.09,grade are both general.In the waters health,habitat structure scores 52.97,level in generaI;Ecological pressure scored 38.1,for the poor.ln land health,ecological pattern scores 55.96,level in general;Ecological function scores 3 1.01,level for the poor;General ecological pressure scoring 55,level in general.We can see from the final evaluation result,Ejina river basin ecological health is not up to standard,the situation is not optimistic.Giving its reasons,first of all,Egina region itself is located in extreme arid inland areas,ecological environment is bad and the ecosystem is very fragile;Second,the water shortage problem is outstanding,affected by the natural climate change and the upstream water shortage,water is of serious shortage in this area,and a number of ecological health indicators was influenced directly or indirectly:Moreover,human disturbance factors is obvious,water quality problem highlights the human impact on natural ecosystems.
