| After the reform and opening up,China’s economy has developed rapidly, and the process of urbanization has been accelerating. In this process, resource utilization efficiency, production efficiency and people’s quality of life have been significantly improved. However,at the same time of economic development, environmental pollution is becoming more and more serious, especially the air pollution problem is extremely severe. The total amount of pollutant discharge far exceeds the environmental capacity, which has become the most serious environmental problem in China, restricting the steady growth of China’s economy and The sustainable development of the society has seriously affected the health of the residents, brought huge health costs, and affected people’s normal life. The treatment of air pollution cannot be delayed. In this context, studying the impact of air pollution on the subjective well-being of Chinese residents can not only help us better understand the impact of air pollution on residents’ lives, but also measure the willingness of residents to control air pollution.Air pollution levies environmental taxes to provide certain advice, which has important theoretical and practical significance.Based on the CGSS 2015 national questionnaire data, this paper measures the air pollution level by the air quality index AQI and analyzes the air pollution in different regions.By matching provincial environmental pollution data and China’s comprehensive social survey personal happiness data, the ordered logistic model is used to estimate the happiness equation of air pollution to residents’ subjective well-being.According to the Life Satisfaction Evaluation Method(LSA),the air pollution is optimistically priced, and the loss of willingness of one unit of air pollution residents is analyzed. Finally, the characteristics of different trait residents are analyzed to study the willingness of different trait residents. The research results show that air pollution in China is more serious, and air quality index AQI is more representative of air pollution. The decrease of air quality index will significantly improve the subjective well-being of residents. That is to say, with the increase of air pollution level, the personal happiness of residents is significantly reduced and robust. The per capita annual income of the family has significant impact on the subjective well-being of the residents.Positive impact.According to the Life Satisfaction Approach(LSA),the total amount of residents’ willingness to pay for the reduction of 1 unit is ¥1550.38,accounting for 4.82% of the family’s per capita annual income.Compared with similar studies in foreign countries,it is found that although the total amount of willingness of residents in Europe and the United States to control air pollution is slightly higher than the total amount of willingness of residents in China, the proportion of total residents’ willingness to pay is higher than that of European and American residents.Depending on the sensitivity of the different traits to air pollution, the samples are stratified.Residents of different health conditions, their willingness to pay is related to their own health status. The better the health status, the higher the total amount of money they are willing to pay,and the proportion of willingness to pay as the income decreases. The willingness of residents in different regions increases with the severity of regional air pollution. The air pollution in North China is more serious. The amount of willingness to pay and the proportion of willingness to pay are relatively high.South China The air quality is good, and the amount of residents’ willingness to pay and their proportion of income are relatively low.For urban and rural residents, the willingness of urban residents to pay is much higher than the willingness of rural residents to pay, mainly because urban residents receive greater impact from air pollution, while rural residents are less affected by air pollution, plus urban residents. The income is generally higher than that of rural residents,so the willingness of urban residents to pay is much higher than the willingness of rural residents to pay.Different income levels will also affect residents’ willingness to pay.Through research,it is found that the higher the per capita annual income of the family, the higher the willingness of residents to pay,the positive correlation, the proportion of willingness to pay in the income of the household and the family. The logarithm of the per capita annual income shows a positive correlation, indicating that high-income people are willing to spend more money to pay for air pollution control.Through research,we found that in recent years,China’s air pollution has become more and more serious, and residents have gradually realized the harm of air pollution, and their environmental awareness has been continuously strengthened.Residents’ willingness to pay for air pollution control is constantly improving.Although the current willingness to pay is much lower than in some western countries, the percentage of willingness to pay is close to or even higher than some Western countries.Secondly,we found that residents with different traits are insensitive to air pollution, and therefore have different effects on their happiness. Therefore, the heterogeneity of air pollution should be considered in the future air pollution control. |
