Magnetorheological elastomer(MRE)was a new type of intelligent material with excellent magnetorheological effect and mechanical properties.It was widely used in the field of semiactive vibration control.Large-diameter boring tools were prone to vibration during machining,and vibration affects machining accuracy and tool life.Therefore,an idea of applying semiactive vibration reduction based on MRE to a large aspect ratio boring tool was proposed.The magnetorheological effect of the elastomer was used to change the damping and natural frequency of the file to control the vibration.In this paper,the classification and mechanics of MRE was studied,MRE and their compression properties was tested,a large aspect ratio damping boring tool based on MRE was designed,and use ANSYS to simulate the dynamics.The main contents are as follows:1.The composition of the magnetorheological elastomer was studied,the materials of each part,the preparation ratio and the corresponding process to prepare isotropic and anisotropic elastomers with iron powder mass fractions of 65%,70%,75% and 80%,total of eight.2.An experimental device for measuring the compression properties of elastomers was designed and fabricated,including magnetic circuit design,size and material formulation,and assembly of the final device.3.The designed experimental device was used to test the compression performance of the elastomer,by comparing the amount of change of the elastic body under the same compression amount and different magnetic field strength,the elastic body with better performance is obtained.The test results show that the anisotropic elastomer with an iron powder mass fraction of 75% has the best performance and is used in the design of the vibration reduction boring tool.4.A large aspect ratio damping boring tool based on magnetorheological elastomer was designed,including the design of magnetorheological damping structure and arbor structure,optimize the size by calculation and determine the material selection of each part.The dynamics simulation of ANSYS is carried out.The results show that the first-order and second-order natural frequencies increase by nearly 50 Hz after the 2A current is applied,and the response amplitude of a point at the cutter head is reduced from 4.336?m to 0.469?m.The vibration damping boring tool has good vibration damping and reasonable design was proved.
