The topic of this graduation project is “Research and Application of Traditional Farm Tools in Redesigning Children’s Toys”.Traditional agricultural implements are typical examples of traditional utensil design in China,and are an important indicator of the development of traditional agricultural social productivity and the development level of utensil design.Many design ideas,design concepts and design methods included in traditional agricultural tools have great enlightenment for modern design.It is worthy of our reference.On the basis of research on traditional farming culture and agricultural implement design culture,this topic has been concise.The theme of toy design in spring,summer,autumn,and winter is to discover and refine the design concepts,design techniques,and creation philosophy of the tools,and to use them in the design of children’s toys.The first part of the paper needs research report: combined with the research content of the subject,from the design theme,the children’s toys and traditional agricultural tools related information are investigated and analyzed.Traditional agricultural tools: mainly to the field research in rural areas,visit the China Farming and Weaving Culture Park in Yanqian Town,Lin’an,Zhejiang Province,investigate the agricultural culture exhibition hall of Anfu County,Jiangxi Province,and visit the craftsmen who make traditional agricultural tools in Wuyi County,Jinhua City,Zhejiang Province.Based on the consideration of the feasibility of "design DNA" in traditional agricultural tools for the innovative design of children’s toys.Children’s toys: conducted field research from toy shopping malls,kindergartens,outdoor children’s parks,etc.,using questionnaires,interviews,field visits,etc.to talk to parents,teachers and children,to study children’s psychological needs for toys,multi-angle Analyze the intrinsic needs of combining children’s toys with traditional agricultural tools.The results of this survey laid the foundation for subsequent design innovation.The second part of the theoretical research report: combined with the research of the demand report,carried out relevant theoretical research.From the "redesign" concept,the inheritance of traditional agricultural tools in the modern"redesign",the feasibility analysis of the conformity of traditional agricultural tools in the "redesign" of children’s toys,the theoretical basis of the design theme was demonstrated.And practical feasibility.The third part of the design report: through the demand research analysis and theoretical research analysis,the feasibility of the traditional agricultural tools for the redesign of children’s toys and the market demand.In this way,I launched the design theme and design practice of the subject "Spring Seed,Summer Long,Autumn Harvest,Winter Collection".This design is an interactive outdoor children’s outdoor experience toy design.In the order of spring,summer,autumn,and winter,the typical rice farming tools in these seasons are selected,and their forms,colors,materials,functions,etc.are “redesigned” and integrated.For example,the thrips needed for transplanting in the spring planting process,the irrigation farm water truck in the summer long process,the thresher in the autumn harvest process,the windmills that people need to consume rice during the winter harvest,etc.design.The research and application of traditional agricultural tools in the redesign of children’s toys has built a bridge between traditional agricultural tools and modern children’s toy design.Through these bridges,the principles and structures of traditional agricultural tools can be applied to modern children’s toys.It will guide the design practice of modern children’s toys with some precious design methods and design concepts in traditional agricultural tools.It is hoped that the redesign of the toy that roots the traditional culture soil will not only train children’s hands-on ability,cognitive ability and cooperation ability,but also convey the excellent design ideas and design culture of the Chinese temper.
