The continuous breakthrough in production technology makes modern product packaging design no longer subject to technology constraints.From the perspective of Abraham H.Maslow’s hierarchy of needs,modern food packaging must not only have certain practical functions,but also have a certain design meaning.Color is one of the visual design elements of modern food packaging.The color association expression can link the package color information with the food information.The audience can intuitively understand the various attributes of the food through simple color information reading.At the same time,under the influence of subjective thinking such as audience association and imagination,the color association expression of packaging can also satisfy the color and emotional appeal of the audience.Therefore,analyzing the color of modern food packaging from the perspective of color associativity can solve a series of problems in packaging color design.From the perspective of modern food packaging market,the batch design mode enables the audience to simply understand the food information related to color through the reading of food packaging color.The color association of packaging color association expression is weak.Strengthening the color associative expression of modern food packaging from the perspective of color symbols can not only solve a series of problems in modern food packaging design,but also promote the rich and development of food packaging color culture.Firstly,the paper analyzes and combs the color associative expression process in modern food packaging design,and summarizes the advantages and influencing factors of the color expression of modern food packaging.Secondly,starting from the associative expression of modern food packaging color,combined with examples to analyze the color symbols in multiple angles,summed up the relationship between color symbols and food attributes in the process of packaging color association expression,and summed up how to use packaging color associative expression to solve the problems in modern food packaging design.Finally,the paper analyzes the social value and development trend of color association expression,and summarizes the role and value of color association expression in food information display,audience consumption,and brand culture communication.In general,the study of color associativity in modern food packaging design can analyze the relationship betweenfood packaging color association expression and packaging color symbols,which can help packaging designers use color elements to optimize modern food packaging and make food packaging creates a better color experience for consumers while providing more color services to the brand.Of course,the enhanced expression of the color of the package can also enhance the market competitiveness of the food brand,so that the market advantage of food packaging is constantly displayed.
