Sand production is a common phenomenon in the development and production of unconsolidated sandstone oil and gas fields.Excessive sand production will affect the production of oil and gas wells,damage equipment,shorten the life of oil and gas wells,and even lead to the abandonment of oil and gas wells.In order to maximize the production efficiency of oil and gas well development and avoid the harm of sand production to the whole project,it is necessary to monitor the sand production dynamics in real time and adjust the production plan in time.The ultrasonic sand production monitoring method uses ultrasonic signals of sand particles impacting on the inner wall of the tubing to retrieve the sand production information.It is easy to construct and operate,and can effectively monitor the sand rate.On this basis,on-line monitoring transducer design for sand production in oil and gas wells based on ultrasonic phased array technology is studied in this paper.Firstly,this paper introduces the monitoring principle of sand production signal in oil and gas wells,studies the design of ultrasonic transducer for on-line monitoring sand production in oil and gas wells,and analyses its performance.Moreover,the spatial distribution of acoustic field of linear ultrasonic phased array transducer is investigated,and a monitoring method of sand production based on ultrasonic phased array is presented.Through theoretical study and simulation experiment analyses,an ultrasonic phased array of sand production monitoring system for oil and gas wells is designed and its parameters are also optimized.In addition,in order to improve the monitoring performance of ultrasonic phased array sand production,an adaptive ultrasonic array method and the concept of ultrasonic surface array for sand production in oil and gas wells is also presented,where the proposed adaptive array method for sand production monitoring system can effectively reduce the complexity of the system and improve the accuracy of sand production monitoring.Finally,an experimental system is also established to verify the effectiveness of the proposed ultrasonic array for oil and gas well sand monitoring.Field experiments and simulation for sand production were conducted,and the results show that the effectiveness of the phased array transducer which has good performance and can meet the actual needs.
