In the last few years,with the restructure of the industries and effect of macrostructure,copper industry stepped into a fast lane.This change has posed great resource,energy,and environmental challenge,and restricted the sustainable development of China's copper industry.So we must pay close attention to the resource and the environment,increase the efficiency in the copper resources to find a sustainable way to develop copper industry.This paper detailedly analyzed the stages of production,fabrication and manufacture,using and recycling in copper industry based on the model of copper cycle,calculated the copper flow in the life cycle from 1990 to 2014,and drew the corresponding material flow charts.Based on the results from material flow analysis,this paper has calculated several important indicators including direct material input,direct material output,raw material self-sufficient ratio and scrap using ratio in the stages of production and manufacture,copper scrap index,copper ore index,copper resource efficiency,the variations of social reservoir and reservoir per capita.Copper resource efficiency showed a decreased tendency in the last few years and its average value was 1.3t/t;the average of copper scrap index and copper ore index were 0.3t/t and 0.75t/t from 1990 to 2014;the variations of social reservoir and reservoir per capita increased rapidly.Secondly,this paper introduced value flow analysis method and has finished the value chain analysis of China copper industry based on material flow analysis from 1990 to 2014,we calculated the value variation in each stage and drew the corresponding value flow charts.The results showed that the value of imported copper products continued to rise since 1990.The total value of imported copper products summed up to 441.06 billion in 2014 and refined copper account for 38.57%.With the depth of processing increasing,the value of copper products will be higher and higher.Finally,based on the basic theory of life cycle assessment,this paper studied the life-cycle assessment of the recycling process of scrap copper in waste air-conditioning and set up the initial life-cycle assessment model with eBalance software,calculated the acidification potential(AP),Chinese resource depletion potential(CADP),Primary Energy Demand(PED),global warming potential(GWP),industrial water use(IWU),respiratory inorganics(RI),sulfur dioxide(SO2),waste solids,entrophication potential(EP).The normalized results showed that the contribution degree of various indicators to environment pollution in a descending order were CADP,EP,waste solids,SO2,AP,RI,PED,GWP,IWU.The comprehensive index value of the recycling process of scrap copper is 2.45362E-11.
