The comprehensive regionalization of mineral resources is the basis for its comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable development.Research on the comprehensive zoning of mineral resources at the city and the county level plays an important role in guiding the resource development, environmental protection and socio-economic development. The study on the comprehensive regionalization of mineral resources in Hanzhong City further clarifies the main contents, tasks, and methods of comprehensive zoning at the city and county level, which guides the future development of mineral resources in Hanzhong City.In this paper, through a bottom-up analysis method, the basic research unit is confirmed as the county administrative region. The SPSS joint algorithm and the improved BP neural network algorithm were used to index the research area.By comparing the partition results of the two methods, the SPSS joint algorithm is selected as the final result of the comprehensive regionalization of mineral resources in Hanzhong City, which contributes the suggestions for the mineral development in Hangzhong city in the future.Through the research, this paper has obtained the following conclusions.First, this paper believes that the city-county regionalization belongs to the second-level category of the comprehensive regionalization of mineral resources. The study should pay attention to the regional characteristics and develop a comprehensive regionalization that suits the characteristics of regional development.Secondly, through summarizing and the systematic analysis,an evaluation system, zoning model, and evaluation model for comprehensive regionalization on the city and county-level mineral resources, which is under the goal of the coordinated development of mineral resources, including resource base, comprehensive development status, ecological foundation, and economic development, have been established. The third is that taking Hanzhong City as the research object, through the joint algorithm and the improved BP neural network method, which evaluate and classify the comprehensive regionalization of mineral resources which takes county as the basic research unit, the matching degree of the two methods are respectively 93.86.% and 83.3%;there is a nearly 30% improvement shown through the improved BP algorithm matching degree.By comparison, the joint algorithm is finally determined as the final result for the study on the comprehensive regionalization. The fourth point is the paper summarizes the plan for the comprehensive regionalization of mineral resources in Hanzhong city, and comes to seven development areas with three types.Upon this basis, the suggestions are made for the development of mineral resources in Hanzhong City in terms of infrastructure, industrial structure adjustment, and environmental protection. The main innovations of this paper are three points: First, the main contents, tasks, and methods for the comprehensive regionalization of mineral resources at city and county levels are determined;secondly, the traditional BP neural network which is used as model for the zoning is improved;through the increase of the sample and the content of indicators, the accuracy rate of zoning is improved by nearly 30%.The third is that the paper establishes a model for the comprehensive regionalization of mineral resources in cities and counties and also a judgment model.Through the classification of restricted development areas, the standard for the classification of general development zones is changed, which creates the regional characteristic for the comprehensive regionalization with regional resources.
