The Applicat Ion And Reflection Of Chinese Visual Elements In Dress Design

As a vital carrier of Chinese traditional culture,Chinese visual elements were forged through five thousand years constantly gestation,accumulation and inheritance.It is not only contained loads of design material but also carried five thousand years of cultural quintessence that are unreachable and irreplaceable in any artistic field.Fashion designers overseas are now gradually applying Chinese visual elements into dress design due to their favor of Chinese tradition.There are lots of designers eager to its application,however,instead of capturing a deeper level of culture connotation,those crash design only catch the surface,make it rather hard to interpret its true artistic conception.On the other hand,Chinese domestic designers,even though they understand the culture background of Chinese visual elements,they still cannot express their thoughts through their work as they are limited by the intrinsic-form of culture.This dissertation would analysis and introspect the application of Chinese visual elements in dress design,find three misunderstanding in designing,then analysis its future trend.By absorbing the quintessence of traditional Chinese culture as well as looking inside of it,to analysis national culture and cutting edge ideas of different countries,breakossified designing thoughts and seeks for plurality of forms.Only through this could Chinese visual elements in full dress design show its exclusive artistic value at the frontier high grade platform and pursue new value orientation of modern dress development.This article would also enhance the understanding the inner cultural spirit and western designing ideas through analysis and introspect the application of Chinese visual elements in dress design,in order to find a brand new designing idea full of eastern cultural characteristic and provide new ideas for Chinese dress design.
