Static compression test and dynamic impact tests are necessary for cushiong performance evaluation method of cushioning materials.However,the amount of dynamic impact test is very large.The test cost lots of materials and spend a lot of time.The study on cushioning properties of EPE in this topic is based on the real tests,simulate the test using the method of computer simulation.Compare the result of the real test and the simulation,and then explore the efficient finite simulation analysis method of cushioning foam material.The EPE in this topic have 4 different kinds of densities(0.021 g/cm3,0.027g/cm3,0.036g/cm3 and 0.064g/cm3)and 3 different kinds of thicknesses(30mm,50mm and 70mm).To ensure the reliability of the input material parameters,measure the Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio through the uniaxial tensile test and compression test.Using the method of leading position and shooting video,obtain the Poisson's ration of the material accurately through recording the results of the identified position change after the material deforming.Simulation results show that,the low-density foam in ABAQUS material module is basically applicable for EPE.The static compression simulation results of all densities EPE show that the trends are nearly with the real test results.The differences between them are small.In the simulation of this test,the influences of Young's modulus and Poisson's ration are very small,but the input test curves produce key influences.There also have some findings in the simulation of dynamic impact test.When compare the different methods of dynamic impact test simulation,there are some conclusions be founded.The simulation method of single impacting just applies to the dynamic impact test under low stress conditions.The case of simulation failure will occur when the static stress high.The simulation result using the method of multistep impacting increase the approximation degree with the real test result.This method adapted to the dynamic impact simulation under the conditions of moderate static stress.
