In the paper, the article mainly research that how to simulate and calculate fabric strength, so far as fabric is concerned, fiber and yarn strength is determined by their feeble spot, on the basis we choose weibull distribution to analyze and estimate yarn strength distribution.At first, fabric strength is principally researched on the foundation of the plain-woven, then extended and applied to twill fabric and satin fabric. According to the transformation of yarn cross section, the yarn cross section model is founded, the formulas are deduced from these. Then we can calculate fabric friction between warp and weft. In the end, the critical length is gained. The concept of critical length is from composite material, it is the basis of prediction of fabric strength. Critical length provides convenience for prediction of fabric strength.Stress concentration is due to yarn rupture, how to distribute Stress of yarn is one of the propose of the article. Share-lag analysis is used widely. Because share-lag analysis accords with the rupture process of yarn.The rupture condition of yarn is confirmed, by comparing yarn factual load and yarn nominal load. If Yarn factual load is more than yarn nominal load, yarn is damaged finally. If Yarn factual load is less than yarn nominal load, yarn is not damaged, The exterior load needs to be added gradually. There are two ways, one-dimensional rupture method and two-dimensional rupture method. Two-dimensional rupture method is mostly studied in the paper.The mathematical model is represented and figured by compiling computer program. VB language is used in the process. The programs consist of data preparative module, Strength conversion module, weibull distribution module, yarn rupture module, fabric strength amending module and so on.A new method about simulating fabric strength is founded by the use of computer. Through research, we know that the means is reliable and exact. Besides saving time and raw material, we may use the method to design and estimate fabric strength before weaving, we can design fabric strength according to the practical need, during the course, and the sequence of the destroyed yarn is known on the screen.
