Assembly is the most time-consuming part of shearer production cycle,virtual assembly planning is very necessary before shearer production cycle,it can shorten the cycle of shearer assembly design,reduce costs and rework rate,and improve the production efficiency of shearer assembly.So this paper develops a shearer virtual assembly system.Based on the analysis of shearer structure and study of virtual assembly technology,determine the design goal,system structure,design environment and main function,the overall design of Shearer virtual assembly system has been made;Against the problem of the assembly data integration and assembly information interaction between modules in virtual assembly system,this paper presents a model of assembly information based on XML Schema,this model has clear structure,easy to expand and data exchange between system module;According to the modular method,studies the methods and procedures of each function module of system,the program is compiled using VC++to achieve appeal functions;Based on UG,builds appeal function modules by the UG/Open API tool and VS2010/MFC,and builds a shearer virtual assembly system;an application example about the UG assembly model of a certain type of electrical traction shearer is listed to test the system,find some problems,and puts forward solutions,prove this system has the advantages of high efficiency and convenient,simple and practical,good interactive experience and other good characteristics,verifies the feasibility and practicability of the development methods of shearer virtual assembly system,and the important role of virtual assembly system in solving problems related to shearer assembly process in advance.
