Recently,the synthesis of selenium compounds has been one of the hottest research areas because of selenium compounds' biological functions,such as antioxidant,improved immunity,anti-cancer activity and so on.However,many of the Selenium compounds have high toxicity which could not be used for drug development.Therefore,the preparation of new selenium compounds with high selenium content and low toxicity has been the pursuit and target of researchers.In this paper,bioactive oligosaccharides and inorganic selenium reagent were used to prepare a new kind of organic selenium compounds and the selenium content,structure and biological activity were studied.Dextrin is a kind of multi-hydroxy functional oligosaccharides which is simple,non-toxic and low-cost.In this paper,dextrin and selenium were combined through chemical means and a new selenium organic selenium compound-dextrin selenite has been received,which had both dextrin and selenium's biological function.In order to improve the product's selenium content,the optimal synthesis conditions have been explored.The selenium content of the product was up to 13.8%which was tested by UV spectroscopy.The structure of the product was determined by IR spectroscopy and 13C NMR spectroscopy.On the other hand,a non-reducing trisaccharide-melezitose reacted with selenide reagent using the optimal conditions mentioned above,and melezitose selenite was obtained.Its selenium content and structure were analyzed.In addition,bioactive sugar alcohols and selenium were combined together through microwave-assisted heating method which is simple,uniform,efficient and green.Erythritol selenite and xylitol selenite were synthesized,and a series of characterization were carried out.The microwave-assisted method not only guaranteed the products'selenium content,but also shortened the reaction time from two days to 20 minutes.The efficiency of the experiment was greatly improved,which provides much convenience for future scientific research.Finally,the biological activity of dextrin selenite was studied.Through toxicity tests in mice,it is found that dextrin selenite had lower toxicity compared with selenite.Through the toxicity tests in vitro and the anti-tumor experiment,we found dextrin selenite had a high activity of tumor inhibition.
