In the process of coiled tubing directional drilling,orientator is one of the most essential tools,which plays a role of adjusting screw motor level and controling well track.In view of the coiled tubing directional drilling technology is still at the blank stage,we design a hydraulically driven orientator,by providing a directional drilling power,using a helical gear axial force into rotational torque of the drive steering.Firstly,referring to domestic and foreign existing steering type,combined with domestic directional drilling research,a plan of coiled tubing hydraulic steering design is developed with full consideration of domestic drilling characteristics.Secondly,the design plan of the whole structure for coiled tubing directional drilling is carried out,and the core part parameters of the steering gear are calculated to check the key parts of the gear.In order to get the most optimized performance parameters of coiled tubing directional drilling,according to the project requirements,we designed 3 sets of data program and helical system model.Analyzed with ABAQUS software for core part strength,the results showed the design parts meet the requirements.Compared the analysis results,we carried out the final steering helical structure and the hydraulic steering dimension design.Finally,in order to test the performance of the designed coiled tubing hydraulic steering,static pressure and dynamic pressure test are carried out on self-developed sample and foreign directional orientator.Experimental results show that the design of coiled tubing hydraulic steering get a better performance than foreign products.
