Simulation of virtual NC machining is a kind of method for NC machining simulation by computer graphics technology,as the key technology of virtual manufacturing,virtual NC simulation in NC code verification,the trial cut before the actual cut processing,collision interference detection tool,NC teaching and other fields have a practical significance.At the same time,the research of virtual simulation machining stage basically concentrated in CNC turning and CNC milling,virtual simulation technology of the two processing methods has been more mature,many scholars put forward many modeling methods and simulation algorithm.But there is little research on the simulation of virtual NC manufacturing of non-circular gear,with the rapid development of processing technology of non-circular gear,its application in industrial production has been greatly improved,so at this stage,the research of non circular gear CNC gear shaper virtual simulation is of great practical significance.In this paper,based on the research of the NC machining simulation technology,the noncircular gear NC machining simulation system is developed.This paper focuses on the realization of the simulation algorithm and realization of the system:(1)By using the modular design idea,the overall framework of the system is designed,and the functions of each subsystem are integrated into the simulation platform,the functional realization of different subsystems is guided by the functional requirements..(2)To analyses the common modeling method in simulation processing,combined with the particularity of noncircular gear machining,using simplified unit decomposition method to realize the discrete modeling of rough model,and use the 3D modeling software to build virtual machining environment.To design the non-circular gear pitch curve equation,analyses its processing method,determine the processing parameters,to lay the foundation for the realization of the algorithm.(3)To analyses the NC code standard structure format,the realization of the system to read and translate the NC code,and the use of incremental value of specific coordinates,through the point by point interpolation simulation method,drive each component for machining motion.(4)According to the scene graph structure of OSG,the method of depth traversal is used to retrieve the nodes of the scene.Research how to combine with the OSG library,to realize the processing of the motion animation by the callback,to customize the operator to do the scene interactive roaming,and to realize the simulation of the gear cutting and the tool interference detection by the collision detection.Finally,using VS2008 and OSG to develop non-circular gear tooth inserted virtual simulation machining system,the research results have been successfully applied in the system,and achieve the anticipated goal through modular design makes the system has good scalability,further development and improvement of the system is convenient.
