This paper focuses on the problems encountered in the production of battery terminal,and takes lead alloy bar as the material along with the application of lead terminal on the battery as the engineering background,and completes the lead terminal cold extrusion die design.The feasibility of lead terminal cold extrusion die design is verified in the aspect of theory by means of metal plastic finite element analysis software.Finally,the application test of the extrusion die is completed by the die parts processing and the die assembly.The main research achievements are shown as follows.(1)The lead terminal processing.According to the demand of the lead battery terminal and the existing processing method,the projects of cold extrusion processing technology have been put forward.The processing efficiency of the lead wire column is improved,and the pollution to the environment is reduced.(2)The lead terminal design and formulation process.The shape of the extruded billet is designed to be solid cylindrical lead alloy through the analysis of the cold extrusion process.Using the shearing blanking method,and calculating the cold extrusion pressure and deformation degree.Processing parts are obtained by the forming method of composite extrusion.(3)The structure design of lead terminal extrusion die.The lead terminal extrusion die structure which is the punch in below and separated double concave die is designed based on the principle of the extrusion die design and the lead terminal structure.The die structure improves the distribution uniformity of the cold extrusion pressure and the metal flow,and completes the design and manufacture of the die parts.(4)The plastic forming analysis of lead terminal.With the aid of ANSYS finite element software,the 3D solid model is established according to the simplified extrusion die structure.The finite element analysis of lead alloy forming is carried out based on the load and the constraint condition of the extrusion process,which get a lead alloy cold extrusion of metal flow law and the stress distribution of the lead wire column under different working conditions.(5)The tooling and test of the lead terminals cold extrusion die.With the die parts manufacturing drawings,completing the cold extrusion die parts manufacturing and assembly,and getting a complete set of lead battery terminal cold extrusion die.The test of the lead terminal processing is completed and proving the actual possibility of mold design.
