Exploding bridge wire detonators have the advantages of great antistatic performance and high initiating speed.They can be used as initiating device in the electromagnetic pulse generator for their ability of generating plasma to initiate explosives by electrical explosion of bridge wire.SY columns were made center empty and inserted explosive bridge wires.Different density,particle size,and addition of components of SY columns were tested to obtain detonation properties of the initiating explosive devices:(1)Explosive devices consist of SY cannot be initiated by explosive wire when the diameter of SY columns is less than 6mm;SY with larger density or smaller particle size is easier to be detonated;comparatively,particle size has a greater impact on the degree of initiating difficulty;under the condition of large density and small particle,SY columns coated with fluororubber has higher thermal conductivity and is the easiest to be detonated by plasma;SY is more sensitive to the Ni-Cr plasma than W and A1 plasma;short bridge wires with small cross area can easily detonate SY column.(2)The detonation velocity of SY initiated by plasma were tested by target line method.The experiments show that when SY density ranges in 1.435g/cm3?1.75g/cm3,its velocity of detonation was 3636m/s,3720m/s,3816m/s,3924m/s,4107m/s,4235m/s and 4353m/s,respectively;With the increase of density,the detonation velocity increases as well.(3)The real-time voltage and current of explosive wires were tested by Tek oscilloscope.The increase of discharge voltage has a great impact on shortening the time the plasma appears and enhancing the energy injected into the plasma.(4)The plasma temperature of explosive wires were measured in real-time based on the relative intensity ratio of two lines of atomic emission spectrum.After measurement and calculation,the highest temperature of plasma explosion was 11969K and the corresponding plasma density was 1.955×1015cm3.
