Industrial gases are indispensable raw materials in petroleum,steel,chemical industry,medicine,food,metallurgy,electronics and other industries.They play an important role in China’s economy.Air separation unit is an important unit for the production of industrial gases.Aiming at the shortcoming of high energy consumption and insufficient output of S air separation unit,process optimization and improvement are carried out.The key technological parameters of S plant air separation unit are analyzed,and the bottleneck of air separation unit is found out.Through the feasibility analysis of process bottleneck and equipment bottleneck,the optimization direction of reducing unit energy consumption and increasing output is determined,and the process optimization measures are formulated and implemented.According to the basic situation of the air separation unit and the principle of air separation,four technical transformation schemes are considered,and the process simulation of each scheme is carried out.On this basis,the principle of technical transformation and the key points in design,construction,commissioning and operation are discussed in detail.The technical transformation was carried out and its economic benefit was analyzed.Engineering practice shows that the unit energy consumption of liquid nitrogen is reduced by 3% and the output is increased by 7% after process optimization and technical transformation.Achieved the desired goal and achieved good economic results.The air separation unit runs stably and reliably.The process optimization measures and technical renovation schemes of the air separation unit of S plant have the advantages of simple scheme,easy realization,low cost and convenient operation,which have practical guiding significance for similar air separation units.
