With the progress of society,people have higher requirements for quality of life,and design is an important means and method for improving the quality of life.In addition to satisfying the value of life needs of normal people,design should pay more attention to some special features.The demand for people,and contemporary society highlights the growing trend of globalization of the elderly has brought new issues to our design,with the elderly as the research object,based on empathy design this anthropological research method applied to the elderly In the visual symbol design,the feasibility of using the empathy design method to guide the visual symbol design of the elderly is sought.This dissertation uses the method of empathy,starting from the concept of empathy,and evoking the design of empathy,focusing on the use of empathy design method to carry out experimental design and research on the subject.Secondly,based on the conceptual characteristics of the symbol,and research on the topic.The category is given a limited range,so that the subject’s goal is focused on the design of packaging aid signs,avoiding the research being too broad.Based on the theory of empathy design,the research uses survey methods,literature research methods,and empathy research methods to investigate and analyze the design requirements for visual packaging of elderly foods.The usercentered approach is common to older people.Analyzes the problem of missing information,and considers the characteristics of the elderly’s physiology,cognitive psychology,etc.,and studies the visually-assisted and suggestive symbols that are used exclusively for the elderly.The symbols are only used for current research and serve as an auxiliary information prompting function.This dissertation focuses on finding problem-solving problems.First,it interprets the lack of specific designs for the elderly in the contemporary design that are different from those of young people but seldom has corresponding design.The role played by the elderly in food packaging,and from the three aspects of the visual physiological characteristics,visual cognition and psychological characteristics of the elderly,the low reading rate of contemporary information in the design,complexity of contemporary design,and emotions Temperature and other issues.Second,inspired by the visual guidance system,this article attempts to construct a visual cue sign for the elderly,and to define the specificity of the elderly to address the visual information that older people face in today’s society.Obstacles to knowledge and recognition.Third,based on the empathy design,explore the elderly’s emotional research on their own life experiences and life habits.Fourth,based on the visual characteristics and living habits of the elderly,research is mainly focused on the application of symbols in food packaging.
