Owing to its simple operation,environment-friendly,controllable particle size and good operability,miniemulsion polymerization has been widely studied compared with traditional methods such as precipitation,hydrothermal,solsol-gel and sol-gel.The droplet nucleation mechanism makes it possible to synthesize nanoparticles with homogeneous particle size and stable properties.Miniemulsion polymerization can be used to encapsulate many kinds of materials,such as organic pigments,fluorescent dye,metal complexes,magnetic materials,and liquid materials.As a result,it can be applied in many aspects.However,there are few researches on the application of encapsulating dyes or two different materials to achieve dual function.Nanoparticle was prepared by miniemulsion polymerization,and then applied to ink jet printing and tumor targeting.The specific contents are as follows:(1)Different dyes were encapsulated with styrene-co-butyl acrylate(St-BA)copolymers to prepare encapsulated dye / polymer nanoparticles via miniemulsion polymerization.The encapsulated dye / polymer nanoparticles are spherical with clear shell-core structure,narrow particle size distribution and high thermal stability.In order to obtain appropriate softness of printing matrix,different glass transition temperature(Tg)can be obtained by adjusting different monomer ratios.These nanoparticles are used as a miniemulsion inks to inkjet printing on paper with bright colors and good fluency.There is no phenomenon of clogging nozzles.Dyeing of cotton fabrics indicated that the encapsulated dye/polymer latex nanoparticles possessed good rubbing and washing fastness.All these results indicate that encapsulated dye/polymer nanoparticles are promising products to replace traditional dye inks.(2)Magnetic materials Fe3O4 and fluorescent dyes tetraphenyl ethylene were encapsulated with styrene to synthesize nanoparticles(150 nm)with dual function of cell imaging and magnetic imaging,which for targeting tumor location.The surface of nanoparticles is functionalized by acrylic acid,and then further modified by Biotin-NH2 reacting with acrylic acid.The functionalized nanoparticles have specific targeting function to tumor tissue.Biotin-NH2 can improve cell absorption and enhance the localization effect of nanoparticles on tumor for its good biocompatibility.The nanoparticles were injected into the mice,and they can achieve a good target location in the tumor.As a result,the nanoparticles achieve the dual efficacy of magnetic imaging and cell imaging.Cytotoxicity experiments showed that nanoparticles had low cytotoxicity,which provided a good method for location,tracing and treatment of tumors.
