In arid and semi-arid regions,groundwater is an important source of water supply.Once the groundwater is polluted,the treatment is expensive and difficult,and groundwater quality evaluation and early warning are effective to prevent groundwater pollution.Because the amount of data required for water quality evaluation and early warning of groundwater is enormous.In order to obtain groundwater quality evaluation results and warning information dynamically,and to visualize it,it is necessary to construct a spatial database of groundwater pollution and develop a GIS based water quality evaluation and early warning information system about groundwater.Taking groundwater quality evaluation and early warning in arid and semiarid regions as the goal,using relational database to manage spatial database,the Daniudigas field Water quality Evaluation and early Warning Information System about Groundwater(DWEWISG)was built on GIS with object-oriented development technology.At the same time,the DWEWISG was applied to the groundwater quality evaluation and early warning research in Daniudigas field,which obtained favourable results.The main results obtained in this paper are as follows:1.The DWEWISG was developed.Using relational database to manage spatial database,the WEWISG was built on MAPGIS with VC++.The functions of the DWEWISG include database construction,water quality evaluation,groundwater pollution early warning,groundwater quality dynamic drawing,output etc.2.Water quality evaluation was carried out.The water quality evaluation was carried out based on DWEWISG with the water quality monitoring data in 2012,indicating that the main factors in the area were ammonia nitrogen,nitrate,nitrite,iron and manganese.3.On the basis of deeply analyzing the factors that are related to groundwater pollution,early warning index system was set up by adopting three-level structural models,including index,criterion and objective.Meanwhile,the index value standard and the weight of criterion level-objective level and index level-criterion level were determined.The objective level is the groundwater pollution early warning.The criterion level include groundwater vulnerability,pollution source and water quality.The index level includes 10 indicators,including groundwater depth,pollution emissions,background water quality and current water quality etc.4.The DWEWISG was applied.Using Daniudigas field as an example,the spatial database of groundwater pollution was established and the groundwater pollution warning research was carried out based on DWEWISG platform,which’s result matches with research area.The study results above provide a automatic,visual,integrated information platform for groundwater quality evaluation and early warning in arid and semiarid regions,and auxiliary decision for emergency planof groundwater pollution.
