Coke as one of the important raw material of metallurgical industry, which quality has important effect on blast furnace production. The different content of optical texture have different gasification reactivity which leads to different coke quality.Finding the texture how to affect the coke quality by analyzing the changing law of coke microstructure has important guiding significance to the coking production.Lvjiatuo coal was selected as the base of coal. The content of active components and inert components in coals were changed by changing the proportion of asphalt and coke powder.Getting the following conclusion by using new optical texture test method: The content of mesophase increased with the increase of active components in the coking process;the content of fusinite and frag mental texture increased with the increase of inert component. The variation of optical microstructure of lump coke with different layers was tested. The results showed that affected by fluidity and pressure the active components contained more mosaic, fibrous texture and leaflet texture in the process of coal-derived coke. The 144 high-resolution optical texture images of lumpy coke were collected and analyzed. The content of optical texture affected by volatile devolatilization: the isotropy, fibrous and leaflet texture had low hardness, and could destroy by volatile de-volatilization in the coking process, leading to the pore structure increase, mosaic and fusinite and frag mental texture with have high hardness could prevent the development of pore structure. The linear regression was established to analysis the gasification reaction of each optical texture.Fibrous, mosaic, flake, fusinite and frag mental and isotropic structure gasification capacity increase in turn.Under non-isothermal condition, the content of anisotropy texture increased the staring reaction temperature and the maximum gasification reaction rate temperature.
