The development of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy in modern China began in the 1950 s.Wei Shoukun,an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,has played an important role in the institutionalization of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy in China.He was an important founder of the development of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy in China.This article has inspected Wei Shoukun who has played an important role in the development of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy in modern China from the perspective of institutionalization,which has included professional creation,formation of community,the founding of scientific research institutions and iconic results four aspects.The first chapter of this paper has discussed Wei Shoukun who made a contribution in the process of creating Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy discipline in modern China.He founded the first major of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy in China,published the first monographs of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy in China,and laid the foundation for the earliest course system of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy in modern China.The second chapter has investigated Wei Shoukun who played a role in the process of creating and developing the Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy in China.He led the establishment of the China institute of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy,and published the first collection of academic papers of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy.The third chapter has studied Wei Shoukun who played a role in the formation and development of research institutions of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy in modern China.He founded the first research institute of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy in China,and cultivated an excellent professional team of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy.The fourth chapter has analyzed Wei Shoukun who attained the mostrepresentative achievements in the field of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy.He was the first Chinese scholar to publish a paper in the international journal of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy.It can be seen that Wei Shoukun has laid a foundation and a leading role in the process of Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy discipline in modern China.
