Electron beam irradiation sterilization technology is fast,efficient,no residue,and easy to operate.However,the medical polymer materials irradiated by electron beam will change color,which is mostly yellowing or color darkened,and the physical performance deteriorated,which affects the appearance and performance of the materials.The effects of antioxidants,light stabilizers,anti radiation agents and SEBS on the electron beam irradiation properties of two kinds of polypropylene and polyurethane materials are studied in this paper.(1)The color change of stabilizer after electron beam irradiation is discussed in this paper.When antioxidant 1010,antioxidant 1076,antioxidant 1098,antioxidant 3114,antioxidant 245,light stabilizer 622,light stabilizer 944,light stabilizer 770,antioxidant 168,anti ray agent 2507 and SEBS are directly irradiated by electron beams.(2)Antioxidant 1010,antioxidant 1076,antioxidant 1098,antioxidant 168,antioxidant 3114,antioxidant 245,antioxidant 245,light stabilizer 622,light stabilizer 944,and light stabilizer 770 are blended with PP respectively.Under the irradiation dose of 25kGy,it is found that the antioxidant effect of antioxidant 168 and antioxidant 245 are the best and the color difference value change is the smallest.The thermodynamic properties of the materials have changed little,and the sterilization tests have been up to standard.(3)The compound has no synergistic effect,when antioxidant 168,antioxidant 245,antioxidant 1076 are combined.(4)PP is modified by SEBS,when the PP/SEBS ratio is 80/20,the color difference of the material is 1.0-1.5 at 25kGy,which is superior to the stabilizer modified system,and the transmittance of the material increases and the haze decreases.(5)The antioxidant 245,antioxidant 168,and radiant agent 2507 are melted and blended with TPU.It is found that the best effect is when adding 25070.3phr and 168 adding 0.5phr.Under 20kGy,25kGy and 30kGy,it has no significant difference on color difference.The addition of stabilizer has no obvious influence on the mechanical properties of TPU.Sterilization reaches the standard.(6)Hindered amine stabilizer 622,944,770 and so on are not suitable for irradiation modification of TPU.During processing,TPU will be induced to decompose,resulting in material discoloration and degradation.
