Cyclopentamethylenetetramine(HMX)and 2.4.6.8.10,12-Hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane(CL-20)are high-energy elemental explosives,and their application in weapon munitions is a current research focus.The safety of xweapon ammunition is the premise of their mass production and application,however,high mechanical sensitivity of HMX and CL-20 have limited their extensive applications.Therefore,it is an indispensable work to carry out the sensitivity reduction of HMX and CL-20 and improve their application safety in ammunitions.In this paper,inert materials including fluorine rubber F2604,plasticizers DOS and microcrystalline wax and insensitive explosive including TATB,LLM-105 and ANPyO were selected as the candidate of coating materials.The coating methed of HMX and CL-20 was treated by surface coating.Firstly,DSC and VST methods were chosen to determine the compatibility of high-energy explosives with coating materials.Secondly,the interaction between high-energy explosives and insensitive explosives were studied by X ray diffraction(XRD)and Fourier infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)methods.The DSC test results showed that:1)HMX was compatible with F2604,was mildly sensitive with DOS and Wax,was compatible with TATB.and was sensitive with LLM-105?105 and ANPyO.2)CL-20 was incompatible with DOS-and was slightly sensitive with other inert materials,was compatible with the TATB and LLM-105,and was slightly sensitive with ANPyO.The VST test results showed that HMX and CL-20 were compatible with all inert materials.HMX was moderately reactive with ANPyO,was compatible with TATB and LLM-105;CL-20 was compatible with all the insensitive explosives.Based on the compatibility results between high-energy explosives and coated materials,TATB,LLM-105 and F2604 were selected to act as the coating of high-energy explosives and test mechanical sensitivity.The test results showed that both LLM-105 and TATB can significantly reduce the mechanical sensitivity of HMX and CL-20.Finally,in the present paper,HMX based high-energy aluminized explosive in which the main components of blunt adhesive system were fluorine rubber and microcrystalline wax was introduced in by three safety experiments to study the influence of the binder in the mixed explosive,including slow cook-off test,fast cook-off test and bullet impact test.The experimental results showed that the different proportion of the insensitive system had great influence on the performance of the explosive in the three safety experiments.
