| At present,with the continuously improving of people’s living standards and the continuously increasing of the social demand for paper,the performance of paper is increasingly demanding for people.Sizing agent is an essential chemical agent in the paper industry,and sizing agent is also getting more and more valued.The paper sized by the waterborne acrylate copolymer emulsion,as a surface sizing agent.Surface free energy is significantly reduced when the rubber coate on the surface of fibers.The paper has better water and oil resistance,and the strength properties of the paper is improved to meet the performance needs of some specialty papers.Perfluoroalkyl compounds with low surface energy have water and oil resistance and anti-fouling properties.And they have very good biocompatibility.Perfluoroalkyl acrylate copolymer emulsion,can give the polymer coating excellent surface properties.The problem of poor water and oil repellent performance of traditional waterborne acrylate copolymer emulsions can be solved.At the same time the addition of perfluoroalkyl compounds can also improve the polymer’s heat resistance,chemical stability and other properties.This topic sues intermittent feeding emulsion polymerization.Acrylate copolymer microemulsion(WPA)is prepared,which using methyl methacrylate(MMA),glycidyl methacrylate(GMA)acrylic acid(AA),hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HMEA),butyl acrylate(BA)as monomers,using polyoxyethylene octyl Phenol ether(OP-10),sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS),ammonium alkyl polyoxyethylene ammonium sulfate(DNS-18)as emulsifier.The optimal synthesis conditions and schemes for the preparation of acrylate copolymer microemulsions were discussed.And the properties of the acrylate copolymer microemulsion and film prepared under the optimal conditions were studied.Excellent perfluoroalkyl acrylate copolymer microemulsion(WFPA)was prepared with the adding of perfluoroalkylethyl acrylate(FM)to modify acrylate copolymers.The emulsion properties and film properties of WFPA at different FM additions were studied.The effect of WFPA with different FM addition on the paper’s water and oil resistance and various mechanical properties was discussed with the preparation of WFPA applied to paper surface sizing agent.The main workflow of this topic is as follows:(1)Acrylate copolymer microemulsion was synthesized by batch feeding emulsion polymerization.When the polymerization temperature is 80℃,the stirring rate is 175r/min,the emulsifier dosage is 5%,the initiator dosage is 0.5%,the reaction time is 4h,and the emulsifier selection ratio is m(OP-10):m(DNS-18):m(SDS)= 1:1:1,the WPA emulsion with the best stability is synthesized.The static contact angle of WPA film with water is 73.2°,and the static contact angle with liquid paraffin is 47.1°.So the WPA film has poor waterproof and oil-repellent properties.(2)A stable WFPA microemulsion is synthesized by adding FM monomer.Waterproof and oil resistant performance of polymer film is effectively enhanced.When the FM content increaseing,the contact angle of the WFPA film with water and liquid paraffin increases,and the water absorption rate of WFPA film is getting smaller and smaller.When the addition amount of FM monomer is 7%,the static contact angle of the film with water is 124.7° at the maximum,and the static contact angle of the film with liquid paraffin is 101.4° at the maximum.(3)When the WFPA microemulsion surface sizing agent sizing the paper surface,the combination of fibers on the surface of the paper is evenly compacted and the paper fiber surface becomes smooth.The mechanical strength properties of the paper have been significantly improved.(4)When fluorine-containing WFPA with a lower surface energy extrudes the paper surface,the waterproof and oil repellent properties of paper have been significantly improved.When the addition amount ofFM monomer is 7%,the static contact angle of paper and water reaches 134.2° after sizing,and the static contact angle with liquid paraffin reaches 116.3°. |
