The Study On Women's Head-wear In Tang Dynasty

As one of the most prosperous and influential dynasties in Chinas ancient history,Tang Dynasty had fostered an extraordinary culture of clothing,especially the clothing of women.However,theres still a lack of information about head-wear,a unique part of the clothing system.Therefore,in this paper,on the basis of historical literature,I have categorized the head-wear to five kinds: Dianchaihuashuliguan(Flower Tree Head-wear),Longguan(Cage-shaped Head-wear),Xiaoguan(Small Head-wear),Gaojiguan(Updo-shaped Head-wear),and Niaoxingguan(Bird-shaped Head-wear).To get a full study on the origins of head-wear through different perspectives,Ive decided to introduce the head-wear by putting it into the whole clothing system for the sake of comparison,with the aim to unveil the hidden political and cultural factors that have contributed to the development of the head-wear.
