Geographical indication is a kind of product identification which represent the territory of a country or a specific region in that territory,meanwhile,the given quality,reputation and other characteristics of the product were essentially attribute to its geographical origin.The concept of geographical indication or its related concept had been proposed 200 years ago in Europe,but appeared lately in China.Current research on geographical indication has been limited to the area of Intellectual Property,single geographical indications and spatial distribution characteristics.In this paper,as the basis of geographical indication data announced by the State Administration for Industry and Commence,General Administration Quality Supervision and Ministry of Agriculture,we analyze the development status of Chinese tea geographical indication,discuss the distribution trend under different topography and environmental factors with the method of GIS technology,and make a discussion of Anji Baicha geographical indication.The results are as follows:There are 391 geographical indication of tea registered in three different management department and 299 left after removing duplication,including six traditional tea categories and the type of substitute tea.Among different province,Fujian province has the richest number of geographical indication of tea,and the second one is Zhejiang province;among different tea producing areas in China,Jiangnan area remains the richest number and average quantity of geographical indication of tea,Huanan area has the minimal owning number and Huabei area remains the smallest average quantity in each province.Different categories of tea have diverse spatial distribution:green tea category appears in every province;black tea.dark tea and substitute tea are distributed in all four producing areas;all the white tea and a large quantity of oolong tea geographical indication belong to Fujian province.Most of the geographical indication of tea appeared in undulating mountain or inclined plains with humid climate and higher annual accumulated temperature,90.97%tea geographical indication lied in mountains and plains;the degree of moisture gradually decreased from north of China to south;combine the former sectors with the annual accumulated temperature,we can find that only a few number of tea geographical indication of appeared in less precipitation terrace with low temperature or wet hill landforms with high temperature."Anji Baicha" is a kind of green tea which has been discovered 20 year ago,now it remains a highly reputation in China.In recent years,Anji county governments cooperated with Anji Baicha Industry Association for setting up the leisure tourism industry and providing origin traceability card for farmers and tea sellers etc.,these initiatives helped Anji Baicha becomes a classical case of geographical indication product.With the rapid development of economy,some problems such as environmental damaging and low resource utilization problem need to be settled down eagerly.
