One of the major passive safety systems, the AP1000 plant passive containment cooling system(PCS),is designed to remove heat from the reactor containment building in the event of an accident.Such as loss of coolant accidents(LOCA)and main steam line break(MSLB).Falling film evaporators have demonstrated a good performance to remove decay heat from the containment. In this thesis, the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)is used to study this thermal hydraulic phenomena, the Eulerian wall film model in ANSYS FLUENT is applied to study falling film evaporation. The Results Obtained by the model achieved regarding the removal of heat from the containment by heat transfer between steel vessel and falling film evaporator. Also explained the heat flux in the containment vessel steel wall.
