This research paper discussed China Africa relations with focus on China's Investments in Guinea's Mining sector.Looking at available literature, the study examined and highlighted reasons advanced by various scholars as to why China is investing more in Guinea's Mining sector. My study looked at historic part of Chinese investments in Guinea, and also highlighted the current and developing situation. Also highlighted by this study are the impacts of Chinese investments in Guinea's mining with focus on impact towards social and economic development of Guinea. My study further examined the perceptions of Guineans towards Chinese investments as a result of their investments in Guinea's mining sector. My research contends that majority of Chinese companies which have invested in Guinea's mining sector are State Owned Companies which have full backing of their home government in terms of financial assistance as well as helping them during discussions and negotiations for mining contracts projects in Guinea. The study further observed that Bauxite is the major mineral which Chinese companies are mining in Guinea, next being Iron ore among other minerals. After analyzing available literature,I conclude that Chinese investments in Guinea's mining sector have greatly contributed to Guinea's Economic and Social growth.Further, our study concludes that China is investing heavily in Africa as particularly in Guinea for economic and trade gains not any hidden imperial or colonial tendencies as China's critics insinuate and that China's investments are in Guinea largely on invitation of Guinean authorities. Our study also contends that Guineans perception on Chinese investments is positive, despite a few grievances, which the study found that Chinese companies are fully aware and are working to resolve.
