Research On Household Kitchenware Design Under The Horizon Of Universal Design

With the aging population situation and the increasing social attention to the vulnerable groups,the universal design concept has been gradually used in various fields,and having a positive impact on human life.At the same time,the rise in demand for household kitchenware and the difference of facing the crowd for kitchenware make the household kitchenware design need greater inclusiveness,which coincides with the universal design concept.However,most of the research on the design existing household kitchenware from the aspects of modeling design and function expansion,therefore,Combined with the development of the times,it is necessary to study the design of household kitchenware by using the universal design.Based on the existing universal design theory,this paper analyzes the products,the users and the environment of the household kitchenware,points out the problems existing in the design of household kitchen,and put forward the necessity of introducing universal design concept into household kitchenware design.Through the analysis of the existing universal design case of household kitchenware design,the five universal principles and corresponding design methods of household kitchenware are summarized with exploratory research.Through user interviews,behavior observation and questionnaire analysis,find the problems in the use of household kitchenware,in order to solve the existing problems,carry out the universal design practice for common kitchen knife,cutting board and washing basket according to the research theories and method proposed in this paper.The kitchen is the space with the highest operating frequency and the most function in the family space,and kitchenware is the protagonist in this space.This paper through the introduction of universal design can provide comfortable and convenient kitchenware products for a wider range of people,and then build a more comfortable,relaxed,safe and equal family kitchen environment.
