Research On Evolution And Reinvention Of Feminine Furniture Design From Ming And Qing Dynasty

Chinese women play an oppressive role in the history of feudal society,and they are at a disadvantage in social and family life.The objects that they related are often in an overlooked state.Modern society and modern women gradually realize that they should try to have independent thinking on the view of women,and fight for the status of women by different ways.The purpose of this study is to liberate women design which was belonged to male design in the past by women thinking.Moreover,it makes the design back to the creator and user themselves,and it creates the feminine design which belongs to women.First of all,this study takes the feminine design symbol,the feminine space and the Ming and Qing feminine furniture as the research perspective.In the exploration of design symbols of women,literature research methods used as the primary method,and actual research supplemented.This research carrier combines era background with technical conditions which are paintings,poetry,costumes to study and arrange the origin of the evolution of Ming and Qing feminine furniture design and summarize the feminine design symbol of Chinese from the Clan Period,becoming the basis for the study of cultural context and provides factual evidence for future innovation and development.Secondly,in analyzing the concept of modern women consumer and the similarities and differences thought patterns between women and men.In this part,the primary method is questionnaire and support by literature research to search the development change of women thought and the differences and similarities between women and men.According to the study,summary the direction of feminine furniture design with traditional Chinese furniture.Besides,traditional furniture making skill is an essential category of national intangible cultural heritage.The feminine furniture of the Ming and Qing Dynasties is an essential branch of traditional furniture pedigree.Pedigree research can directly and see the development of the object.The purpose of this study is to protect and inherit on the national intangible cultural heritage.Gender feature of traditional Chinese furniture would be a new classification in this study.Summary the pedigree of the design symbol of female,feminine space and Ming and Qing feminine furniture design,while arranging the evolution of feminine furniture design and the development of innovation.Finally,according to the pedigree of the design symbol of female,feminine space,Ming and Qing feminine furniture design and questionnaire date analyzation to start an innovative design practice which tries to combine traditional Chinese furniture with modern women.As Chinese design goes to the world,Chinese design which rooted in the country needed should research on the change of design idea from the past.Adhering to the spirit of "Take away the best and filter out the impurities," and explore with the protection of traditional furniture making skill.Also,it should infuse the new cultural idea and provide the solid theoretical foundation for the future feminine furniture.
