Petrochemical companies play an important role in China's economic market.As an important part of oil storage and sales,oil storage tank area plays an important role.It is an inevitable requirement of economic development to set up automatic system of oil tank area and improve the working efficiency and safety of oil tank area.This thesis first introduced the development and present situation of the automated monitoring system for tank farms.Then,based on the status of the tank area in Panjin petrochemical enterprise,the functional requirements of the automation system in the tank area are analyzed.Based on PLC and WinCC,the automatic system of tank area is designed.The system is composed of field instrument unit,control unit and monitor unit of upper computer.The monitoring parameters of the tank area are collected by the field instrument,and the standard signal is transferred to the PLC for data processing.PLC is connected to the host computer through industrial Ethernet,and the communication protocol uses the ISO protocol.The hardware configuration of the system is determined by analyzing the range and precision of the parameters and field environment.Hardware design mainly includes: liquid level instrument selection,temperature instrument selection,pressure instrument selection,PLC hardware configuration,host computer selection.According to the structure which we have designed,the hardwareis integrated.The advantages and disadvantages of three oil metering methods,such as the liquid level method,the static pressure method and the mixed method,are analyzed and compared.Then,based on the mixed method,the oil content is taken into consideration,which improves the accuracy of oil metering.At the same time,in order to improve the efficiency of tank utilization and production efficiency,incremental PID algorithm is used to control the liquid level of buffer tank and oil storage tank in the production process,which achieves a good control effect.Design system login screen,main monitor screen,single tank monitoring screen,data trend analysis screen,alarm screen,historical data query screen,etc.by WinCC configuration software.The functions of data acquisition and processing,system fault alarm,and real-time operation state display are realized,thus the real-time monitoring of the process in the storage tank area is completed.The successful operation of the automation system in the tank farm which improves themeasuring accuracy of oil and the precision of liquid level control,automation system reduced the labor intensity of workers,and improved the working environment of workers.The system is of great significance to the efficiency of tank operations,the utilization efficiency of oil tanks,the level of automation,and the improvement of safety standards.
