As a kind of important parts,screw is widely used.Because of the complex and changeable modeling of screw,its design and manufacture are more difficult.The wide use of CAD/CAM technology has improved the efficiency of screw design and manufacturing.However,many CAD/CAM softwares are more versatile and less professional.Therefore,in order to further improve the design and processing efficiency of the screw,this paper studies the CAD/CAM technology related to the screw,and develops a CAD/CAM system based on the UG NX 8 software,the visual studio 2010 and the MATLAB software,C#as the programming language and NX Open development tool.At the same time,the theoretical error of section enveloping method for whirling in machining screw is also studied.On the basis of the analysis of the screw model,the parametric design of the three-dimensional model of the screw is realized from two aspects of the parametric design of the screw three-dimensional model and the screw design based on the parameterized program.According to the shape of the screw and the actual situation,the complex molding screw tends to use the former to design and create,and the simple molding screw is more used by the latter to design and create.In this paper,the mathematical model of the arc curved surface and spiral curved surface of the blade tip is established when the internal cyclone envelopes the machining screw of the screw,and the equations for solving the tool path are determined on the basis of the space envelope condition.After trying to solve this equation many times,it is found that there is no solution to the system.According to the model of the screw and knife plate established this time,it is not feasible to solve the tool path from the angle of space envelope.Therefore,the section envelope method for whirling process is used to machine the screw and solve the tool path in this paper.The basic principle of the section enveloping method is introduced,and the tool path solving module is developed,and the tool location of the section enveloping method is realized.In order to quickly understand the screw information and extract relevant parameters,a feature parameter reading module for screw model was developed.Based on the coordinates of the cutter location,the simulation machining module is designed on the platform of UG to simulate the machining process and verify the correctness of the cutter location.At the same time,a post processing module is developed to transform the tool location coordinates into NC codes that can be directly identified by NC machine tools,so as to improve machining efficiency.Finally,this paper analyzes the mechanism of the theoretical error of the section enveloping method in processing the screw,and describes the error.On this basis,a more accurate method of estimating the error value is proposed and the distribution of the errors and related parameters of the screw in the axial trench of different style spiral grooves is analyzed.The method can predict the size of the error value when milling the screw by the section enveloping method,and then take some compensation measures to ensure the quality of the screw.
