Fiber reinforced concrete is new cement based composite material,compared with traditional concrete;this new material can improve its tensile strength and control the amount of micro cracks and its growth effectively.Now these kinds of fibers are used in fiber reinforced concrete generally,such as steel fiber,carbon fiber,polypropylene fiber and so on,however these fibers have its own defects,some may cake in concrete,some may be expensive.Therefore such a kind of high-insensitive,durable and low-cost material is needed for researchers.Calcium sulfate whisker is a replacement of fiber and it is a kind of monocrystal,that is fibroid and inexpensive,compared with short fiber,its measurement is smaller.Expect high-strain,high-modulus,heat resistance and corrosion resistance,calcium sulfate whisker has the performance of both mineral material and fiber material,which reveal its excellent physical and chemical properties and mechanical properties.It seems that calcium sulfate whisker has a favorable development foreground.In this article,first it studies the mechanical properties of calcium sulfate whisker-reinforced cement based material in different content of calcium sulfate whisker,especially the fluidity,the initial setting time,the final setting time,the flexural strength and the compressive strength,besides it compares calcium sulfate whisker with calcium carbonate whisker on testing the flexural strength and the compressive strength of whisker-reinforced cement based material.The size of the specimens is 40mm X 40mm X 160mm,it has 3 specimens in every content and the total of specimens is 144.Then it researches the mechanical properties of concrete which is added calcium sulfate whisker and polypropylene fiber,mainly the flexural strength and the compressive strength in different content of calcium sulfate whisker and polypropylene fiber.The size of specimens in the compression test is 100mm×100mm ×100mm,The size of specimens in the bending test is 100mm × 100mm × 400mm,it has 3 specimens in every content and the total of specimens is 96,Also the article analyzes the change of concrete when it only contains calcium sulfate whisker,only contains polypropylene fiber and contains both calcium sulfate whisker and polypropylene fiber,besides it studies the hybrid effect of calcium sulfate whisker and polypropylene fiber.At last,it analyzes the effect mechanism of calcium sulfate whisker on cement based composite material,it reveals the function of calcium sulfate whisker and polypropylene fiber in improving the strength of cement based composite material.
