Inorganic whisker material is divided into 3 classifications: high-temperature whisker, mid-temperature whisker and low-temperature whisker accoding to the difference temperature of the used whisker. In each classification we has introduced their chemical properties, the methods of preparation and complex materials.The calcium sulfate whisker is a kind of mid-temperature inorganic whisker with excellent property.The produnce methods is abide by this equetion:120-140℃ CaSO4 · 2H2O(→|(120-140℃)) α -CaS04 · 1/2H2O+3/2H2Oα -CaSO4 · 1/2H2O→ CaSO4 + 1/2H2OAfter the reaction, the calcium sulfate whisker was obtained. It was dried out the water in higher 200℃. Which has been confirmed by X-ray, FT-IR and SEM scan morphology and chemical analysis.The results are:①The mass proportion of gypsum and water is 1:5.②The range of reaction pressure is 0. 160. 20 MPa.③The range of reaction time ought to be more than 45 min.④The whiskers degree of purity is more than 98.5%.
