With desirable mechanical property,stable chemical property and pleasant appearance,tempered glass cover is quite popular among the cookware industry.However,spontaneous explosion of tempered glass cover is quite often,especially during the cooking process.Not only does this cause great harm to consumers,but also puts the cookware industry in great trouble.Hence it is of vital importance to probe into the causes to spontaneous explosion of tempered glass cover and take technical measures to minimize spontaneous explosion rate.Main research efforts and findings of the project are shown as follows:1.The glass tempering technologies and spontaneous explosion mechanisms of tempered glass were introduced in the project.Analysis was made of the causes to spontaneous explosion of tempered glass cover from the perspectives of production and machining process of the product.2.Experimental researches were conducted to probe into the effect of various factors arising from the tempering process on the tempering effect of the 5mm of tempered glass cover.It was found that abrupt and cold wind pressure and cooling length exerted a greater influence than the tapping temperature.There were approximate linear correlations between tempering intensity and debris count per unit area.It was concluded through statistical approaches that there were proportional relations between spontaneous explosion rate and the debris count per unit area.3.Tempering technological parameters for tempered glass cover were proposed in line with the experimental results and the application requirements of the 5mm of tempered glass cover.It showed that the product could meet the application requirements well if the debris count per unit area was controlled between 80 and 90.This was verified with experiments.4.Efforts were made to probe into the effect of machining quality of tempered glass cover on spontaneous explosion rate.Besides,technological proposals to improve machining quality were proposed.The research findings will open up new ideas for tempered glass cover manufacturers to find spontaneous explosion solutions.
