The study area belongs to the West Cordillera sandstone copper belt, which is the most potential copper resource area in Bolivia.Chacarilla copper deposit and corocoro copper deposit are famous copper deposits in this area.Based on the analysis of the geological characteristics and mineralization of Chacarilla copper deposit, this paper discusses the geological characteristics and prospecting potential of Chacarilla copper deposit. All ore bodies in the study area are controlled by strata. The deposit is a sedimentary copper deposit.Terrigenous detritus and copper bearing materials were deposited together to form stable copper chloride complex, which is conducive to the migration of copper.Fine medium grained sandstone forms a good ore storage space, making the ore body It occurs in sandstone, and the existence of mudstone can protect the minerals in sandstone and prevent the loss of ore-forming materials in sandstone. In the late stage of mineralization, there were some remoulding effects.First, with the change of chemical environment, the oxidation-reduction-oxidation process occurred, accompanied by the relative dilution and enrichment of copper in the ore body;second, the copper minerals produced in the folding process were enriched again, forming a larger and richer ore body at the fold turning point. The deposit is a sedimentary copper deposit, which has undergone the process of sedimentation reformation(chemical action)-enrichment reformation(tectonism)-re enrichment.
