Mecoptera is one of the ancient groups in Holometabola insects and widely distributed in China. However, most classification work of Mecoptera in China is currently at the national or world level. There are few targeted regional studies, which makes the regional understanding of Mecoptera not clear. In particular,Zhejiang Province is rich in Mecoptera resources. However,in recent years, with the development of industry, the ecological environment has been seriously damaged, the pollution of water systems has increased, and the forest coverage rate has decreased year by year.So far, most of the papers and books describing Mecoptera in Zhejiang Province are only for a certain area, and there is a lack of detailed species descriptions and feature pictures. Some species only describe a single gender. Therefore,Mecoptera's regional research is urgently needed. In this study,Mecoptera in Zhejiang Province was sorted out comprehensively.Describes 33 species of Mecoptera in Zhejiang Province.Among them,Bittacidae only has six species of Bittacus;Panorpidae includes 16 species of Neopanorpa and 11 species of Panorpa(including one new species). This article provides a brief description of Mecoptera in Zhejiang Province, with feature maps and some species overall maps, and highlights a new species, which is: Panorpa fengyangshana sp.nov.Based on the obtained geographic distribution information of insect specimens and the division method of insect geographic components. It is concluded that Panorpidae is distributed in most areas of Zhejiang Province, mainly concentrated in the northwest and southwest mountainous areas, and less distributed in the central and eastern coastal plains;Bittacidae is mainly distributed in the northwest and southwest mountainous areas, but less in the eastern coastal plain area and no distribution in the central region. The overall distribution of Mecoptera species has two characteristics: first, most insects have a narrow distribution area, and nearly half of Mecoptera is a single-region distribution with strong regional representation;second, many species are distributed in Tianmu mountainous area and southern Zhejiang mountainous area.Based on the results of systematic cluster analysis of the East China, combined with the geographic location and species distribution characteristics of Mecoptera, the community without Mecoptera and Taiwan area will be eliminated(the species similarity coefficient between each community is extremely low)After that, the remaining 14 regional units in East China Insect District were divided into four categories. The first type is the Jiangnan Plain,Shanghai Plain, and Zhejiang coastal hills, the second type is the Huangshan Mountain,Tianmu Mountain,Jinqu Plain, central Zhejiang hills, southern Zhejiang mountain,Wuyi Mountain, northeast Fujian mountain, the third type is Longqi Mountain,South Fujian hills, the fourth category is the hills in central Fujian,Daiyun Mountain. And the results show that the Mecoptera in the insect area of East China presents the distribution characteristics of outward diffusion radiation centering on the Tianmu Mountain Area,Southern Zhejiang Mountain Area and Wuyi Mountain Area.
