The theory of reliability was a new discipline developed along with the advance of the Second World War.After World War II,the stability of the international situation promoted the development of industrialization. With the complication of equipment and product, the requirements of reliability are also being toughened, and it makes the application of reliability theory expand to the field of manufacturing. As the deepening of the research of reliability, the start-up demonstration test has become a hot research topic.By analyzing existing papers, the experimental conclusion usually has two grades either accepting or rejecting the equipment. But in practice, the product is usually divided into multiple levels, which can help to carry on the fine management, take appropriate maintenance and inventory strategy for different equipment or products, and improve the efficiency of the management of equipment.Based on above, this paper proposes the start-up demonstration tests with the aim of equipment classification.First,CSTSCFTF start-up demonstration test with the aim of equipment classification is proposed based on the test which only has two results.By using the finite Markov chain embedding method, the paper constructs the Markov chains and the transition rules flowchart of states according to the judgement criteria.Next, some indexes, such as the mean and the variance of the test length, and the probabilities of all levels, are derived. Then,a parameter optimization model is constructed with the objective of minimizing the test length under the three risk constraint conditions. Finally, the optimal parameters combination is gained by this model.Second, this paper put forwards the multi-state start-up demonstration tests with the aim of equipment classification based on the case that the result of the test can be divided into several states, specifically, success is divided into S?1?and S?2?and failure is divided into F?1?and F?2?.Then the paper constructs two models with two different classification standards, and analyzes these two models seperately.Similarly, under three risk parameters constraints, the optimization model is constructed on the purpose of minimizing the test length. Then the optimal parameter combination can be obtained by solving the optimization model.Third, based on the MATLAB simulation data, the paper estimates the probability of success by using maximum likelihood estimation for two-state model and multi-state model above. In the end,in the view of the parameter optimization model of CSTSCFTF start-up demonstration test with the aim of equipment classification, the paper analyzes the numerical examples of optimal parameter combination.According to the above model proposed by the method of calculating the optimal parameter combination, this paper makes a comparison between two multi-state start-up demonstration tests,CS?1?CS?1??2?TF?1??2?and CS?1?CS?2?TF?1??2?.Finally,the paper determines the optimal level division standard based on the sample data in the contrast analysis.
