The Research Of GRM Theory And Its Philosophical Meaning

The measurement postulate is a solution to the measurement problem of the Copenhagen interpretation,but it is controversial because of its dependence on ‘observer'.So there is a need for a new interpretation of quantum mechanics in terms of measurement,and the GRW theory appears in this area as a spontaneous collapse theory without observers.However,due to the uncertainty of the micro system,the GRW theory leaves a tail contine to everywhere in configuretion space,and this is the so-called ‘tails problem'.Thus,the GRW theory doesn't solve the measurement problem well.Futhermore,the effort of trying to alter the‘eigenstate-eigenvalue link' to ‘fuzzy link' to resolve the tails problem will lead the situation to the counting anomaly paradox,which leaves a new dispute to the GRW theory.Meanwhile,differ from the effort of alter the link,GRW theory develop a mass density interpretation to solve the dilemma,but this solution is also a controversial one.The thesis carefully discusses two views on the counting anomaly,and also attempts to solve the dilemma in a new direction and makes a detailed analysis of the origin of the tails problem.On the other hand,in order to make it a relativistic theory Bell proposed the idea of ‘flash' as the primitive ontology of the GRW theory,and this work was finished by Tumulka.But due to some ambiguousness of GRW flashtheory,the disputes over the GRW flash theory regard it as a theory which isn't a full relativistic theory.The thesis analyzes the various disputes that the GRW theory faces and tries to solve some of the problems in a new way,and also hopes to summarize the philosophical significance of the GRW theory in quantum ontology.
