The target is to identify fault by using gravity anomaly linear structure signal. The main task is to research relation of all kinds of fault models fault positions and gravity anomaly linear structure signal maximum positions.There is a new mathod of delimitating faults, that is gravity anomaly linear structure signal mathod. So-called gravity anomaly linear structure signal is derivative of gravity anomaly level total gradient on gravity direction, and the derivatives must be greater than zero.Two-dimentional fault models and three-dimensional fault models have been performed. In plumb fault models and slant fault models, if fault width is big enough, gravity anomaly linear structure signal maximum position is same with plumb fault position. And gravity anomaly linear structure signal maximum position close more slant fault top position than gravity anomaly level total gradient maximum position. It is in slant fault slope. If fault width is more little, there is a deviation between fault position and gravity anomaly linear structure signal maximum position. But the deviation is still more little than that of gravity anomaly level total gradient maximum position and plumb fault position. In combination fault models, if their fault slope angle and their distance are same, gravity anomaly linear structure signal mathod is easier to differentify two fault positions than gravity anomaly level total gradient mathod do. Both sides isopleth width of gravity anomaly linear structure signal is more narrow than that of gravity anomaly level total gradient. Gravity anomaly linear structure signal mathod do well in light and thin fault models. Utilize these characteristics to delimitate and explain fault position for the real data.The main fruits are as follows.1. On the foundation of forefathers research results, have proposed a gravity anomaly linear structure signal mathod, and make delimitating faults easier.2. Have summarized the corresponding relation between faults position and gravity anomaly linear structure signal maximum position of two-dimentional fault models and three-dimensional fault models, and the Contrast between Gravity unusually linear structure signal mathod and gravity unusual level total gradient mathod in delimitating faults.3. The performing of theory model delimitating faults with the real data and fault explain all get very good results.
